The clifftop historic ruin of Kenijack Castle is a pleasant walk
away.
Dolphins and seals regularly visit the rocks and inlets around the Cape and the nearby coves.
Peggy's Cottage is an ideal centre for exploring this awesome, craggy and dramatic piece of
Cornwall with stunning views, abundant wildlife and archaeologically important remains of the
tin mining of the 19th and 20th centuries.
For those with a fascination for ancient and pre-history, there are bronze age and mediaeval
monuments, field systems and remains of ancient village settlements.
Walkers find the coast challenging, rewarding and exhilarating. It is a naturalist's and bird
watchers paradise.
We recommend visits to Geevor Mine and Pendeen Light which are just a few miles north of St.
Just on the road to St. Ives, Sennen Cove a few miles south of St. Just and
Tregwainton Gardens (NT) at Madron.
Although the cottage is far from urban bustle, Penzance, and Newlyn, famous for it's artist
colony and fishing port, are just seven miles away.
They offer holiday entertainment to suit everyone. Our little town of St Just, about half
a mile back from the cottage, has ample shops, a bank and good pubs, holiday-time events
and concerts and a colourful July Lafrowda Festival.
One pub holds regular nights of live music-making including, usually on Mondays, Celtic
folk music played by musicians who forgather from many parts of Cornwall.
